본 논문은 《논어》를 읽고 한국행정의 유교적 전통유산을 고찰하는 네 번째 논문이다. 이전의 논문들에서는 공자의 벼슬욕망과 상하질서강박, 정확호학강박이 우리에게 전래되어져 지금의 행정에 어떻게 현시되고 있는가를 논했다면, 이 논문을 그러한 공자의 욕망과 강박이 어떻게 우리에게 전래되었나를 다루고 있다. 무의식의 기표가 몸에 각인되어 몸을 만든다는 Jacques Lacan의 정신분석학에 따라 《논어》에 나오는 공자의 몸을 자세히 살펴보고 지금 우리의 행정적 몸을 성찰 하였다. 여기서는 공자의 수신론, 군자-소인론, 군자적 몸의 양가성, 그리고 공자 몸의 양가성과 그의 복장과 식생활 등을 살펴보았다. 더 나아가 한국 사회에서 이루어지는 공자적 몸만들기와 “계급놀이” 등을 논하였다. 주제어: 한국행정의 몸, 논어, 공자의 몸, 라캉 |
Confucian Inheritance in Korean Public Administration IV: Confucius' Body

This is the fourth attempt of reading the Analects of Confucius and Korean public administration through the Lacanian lens. Previous articles have thoroughly analyzed the concepts of Confucius desires and obsessions and how they have manifested within the culture of contemporary Korean public administration. This paper continues to build upon these analyses, and examines the idea of the Confucius body, as described in the Analects, and looks more critically into his theory about what the body represents to those who are rulers (Kunja). This paper argues that the body contains inscribed signifiers, and are the key agents in influencing the traditional unconscious structure within contemporary Korean public administration; which as a result, led to Koreans having a similar administrative body that embodies Confucian values of “ambivalence” and “class-hierarchization.”
